I'd call this Christmas album by The Light Crust Doughboys and The Ventures' golden age guitarist (The Ventures' greatest guitarist in history by-the-way) and steel guitar great Tom Brumley of Buck Owens/Rick Nelson fame --an easy listening and a folk masterpiece. If you're seeking more of a Ventures/combo/Nokie/guitar band experience, then first seek out Selectohits' title by Nokie, the album Christmas In Guitarland. If you're up to a more Americana, banjo-laden, steel-guitared, quirky Christmas experience, Texas-style country and folk if you will, then this album is for you! The Christmas version of "O Brother Where Art Thou" movie---is this album! This album has it all: Christmas carols and banjo orchestras and a sprinkling of rockabilly. Some tracks here are even organic and sparse (in a very neat way). Almost a "John Wesley Hardin-type album", you won't find an over-produced, wall-of-sound-for-Christmas here. You'll just find exquisite guitar playing and the best of Texas-style country for Christmas. A five-star folk masterpiece. Standout tracks include Deck the Halls, Swan Lake Christmas, Peace In The Valley, O Holy Night, Christmas Carol Rock, The Toy Yodeler, New Year's Rendezvous.
