In 1974 The Mighty Clouds of Joy, one of gospel music’s most legendary quartets, decided It’s Time to record a soul project. The resulting album, presented here for the first time ever on CD, is considered one of the best to ever come out of Philadel- phia and perhaps the greatest Gospel/Soul crossover album ever released. Cut at the great Sigma Sound Studios with Dave Crawford writing and producing, Wade Marcus arrangements and top notch Philly studio musicians such as Norman Harris, Bobby Eli, Vince Montana, Ronnie Baker and Earl Young. The album spawned the R&B chart hit “Time” and was nominated for a Grammy in 1975.
