This CD celebrates the 25th Anniversary of one of the great Memphis Music & Heritage Festivals. The CD features never before heard archival audio from some of the all-time greats such as Rufus Thomas, Carla Thomas and the legendary Fieldstones.
The Center for Southern Folklore was founded in 1972 and is a cultural organization dedicated to documenting and presenting the people and traditions of the Memphis / Delta region. Over it's forty year history, the Center's mission has grown to celebrate the arts, music and heritage of the South from cultural crossroads of Memphis.
Located in downtown Memphis, the Center for Southern Folklore is home to the best presentation of the folk arts and music that Memphis and the South have to offer, including vast multimedia archives, a folklore store and a permanent folk art and photography gallery.
