Larry "T-Byrd" Gordon joined forces with Art Greenhaw & Tom Brumley to create The R&B Americana Album: Soul Cats Meets Hillbilly Cats. This essential album contains 9 tracks of the most authentic Americana music.
This historic album represents the final sessions of R&B bandleader, Larry "T-Byrd" Gordon, who became Texas' top, show band leader-arranger after having gotten his start with Willie Mitchell and James Brown. Here, he innovatingly joins forces with Art Greenhaw of The Light Crust Doughboys and Tom Brumley of Buck Owens and Rick Nelson fame for a raw, "live," R&B meets Country fest. T-Byrd and Art produce this album in the classic, "live-in-studio" sound that these men learned working at Sun Studio Memphis and Stax Memphis. It's organic, Americana music at it's earthiest and most authentic, brought to you in the producer's Grammy Award-Nominated tradition of their "Southern Meets Soul" album mastework. All this, plus the rare-on-indie-records touch and tone of steel guitar master, Tom Brumley, who departed this earthly life in 2009 to be followed by T-Byrd's passing in 2011. Essential memorial album achievements for both Tom and T-Byrd.
