Released in 1975 Kickin was the follow-up to the Mighty Clouds of Joy’s crossover classic of the previous year, the Grammy nominated album It’s Time. Dave Crawford again handled production, with arrangements from Mike Terry. Recorded in Atlanta and mixed at the legendary Sigma Sound in Philadelphia, the album showcases the group’s legendary harmony vocals. The single "Mighty High" was the Clouds biggest ever crossover hit, with a five week run at number 1 on the Billboard Dance/Disco chart. The record also hit the Soul (#22) and the Hot 100 charts (#69). This is the first ever CD release of this Gospel/Soul classic.
