Devon Allman & Create Records present nightvision. An amalgam of sound, space and vision.
"Dead Sea Scrolls" is the first track from the forthcoming ambient art-rock album nightvision. On nightvision, mystic rhythms, shredder guitars, and song titles that evoke 80's sci-fi films, blend with esoteric middle eastern imagery to coalesce into nightvision.
Recorded at Devon Allman's home turned recording studio during the COVID pandemic, the record marks Devon's son Orion Allman's recording debut on sythesizer. Featuring drummer John Lum and bassist Justin Corgan from both The Allman Betts Band and Devon Allman Project, nightvision is an exploration of sound that leans on vintage 80's sonics from artists such as The Police and The Cure. Deliciously cinematic in scope and equally soothing, this is a record for meditations and herbal vacations.
Listen to this record in the dark.
It's a sense of accomplishment to pull this one out of the vault after 5 years... nightvision is a very special project to me. I have always had a desire to write music for film, so this is a study into that dimension. REcording in the house was a trip, from capturing the drums in the foyer with microphones placed upstairs (ala John Bonham), to going after andy summers sound with vintage Roland Jazz Chorus amps and Electric Mistress pedals. I used mostly shredder guitars like my Jackson 1987 "Jack Butler" (IYKYK) and my Suhr Modern Custom HSS. Additionally, having my son on synth was such a proud moment, as he really added some unique textures."
