Twenty years a frontman singing blues covers, Christopher Wyze has emerged as a powerful lyricist and vocalist of his original blues. Christopher Wyze & the Tellers hit paydirt with their July 2024 debut album Stuck in the Mud, a studio release featuring 13-originals. It peaked at #2 on the worldwide RMR radio play Blues Album chart and produced the #1 RMR Blues single: "Back to Clarksdale." The album ended the year on a roll, coming in at #38 in RMR’s “Top 200 Blues Albums of 2024.” With that, Wyze & the Tellers became one of just 3 newcomer artists to crack the list’s Top 50 spots.
Their whirlwind arrival has earned listeners and praise the world over:
“captivating” – Keys & Chords, Netherlands
“hypnotic” — La Hora Del Blues, Spain
“blew me away” — Blue Monday Monthly
“memorable songs” – Living Blues
“vivid…cinematic” – Big City Rhythm & Blues
“authentic…a bluesman” – Zicazic, France
Now, less than 9 months after making the scene, they’re back with LIVE in CLARKSDALE. Recorded and filmed live in Clarksdale Mississippi, the new album features eight of the band’s radio-charting singles plus two famed 1920s works from blues legends Leroy Carr and Scrapper Blackwell. The CD/DVD set features the band’s live performance: the soundtrack and video, a 12-page insert booklet, plus a bonus: WYZE in CLARKSDALE – a 50-minute documentary video, filmed in the Delta and hosted and produced by frontman Christopher Wyze.
