Underground, Vol. 1: 1991–1994 gives new life to one of the most important documents in Memphis rap history. Long before their 1995 breakthrough Mystic Stylez, Triple Six Mafia (Three 6 Mafia) were already shaping the sound of Southern hip‑hop, pioneering the dark, lo‑fi, and hypnotic style that would later be known as Horrorcore. These early tapes circulated hand‑to‑hand across Memphis, building a cult following and laying the foundation for the group’s rise as rap innovators.

Underground Vol. 1: 1991-1994 pulls together some of the strongest material from DJ Paul and Juicy J’s early mixtapes, capturing the raw energy, eerie production, and unmistakable Memphis bounce that defined the era. The compilation features classic contributions from core members and affiliates including Lord Infamous, Gangsta Boo, Project Pat, and others who helped shape the group’s unmistakable sound.
