Artist like Colt Ford whose fifth studio album  Thanks For Listening,  released on July 1 2014  and debuted at #1 on Billboard‘s Independent Albums chart, #2 on Billboard‘s Top Country Albums chart. Colt and his team at Average Joe’s recently presented us with a wonderful and beautiful plaque commemorating the achievement of his Billboard success.

R.I.P to “The Jacka” Oakland Rap Legend


CBS reports that the Jacka, the veteran cult-hero Bay Area rapper, was killed last night in East Oakland. He was shot several times around 8PM on MacArthur Blvd., and no suspects have been identified. He was 37.

The Jacka was born Dominic Newton in Pittsburg, California. At a young age, he converted to Islam and took the name Shaheed Akbar. He first rose to prominence in the late ’90s as part of C-Bo’s Mob Figaz crew. He releasedJacka Of The Mob Figaz, his first solo album, in 2001,  In 2014 the Jacka released two albums: The solo albumWhat Happened To The World and Highway Robbery, a collaborative album with Freeway. We would like to to send our  prayers, deepest  sympathy, and sincere condolences to the family. Rest in peace, Dominic “The Jacka” Newton.

DJ Paul Responds to Project Pat’s Comments about Da Mafia 6ix


In a recent interview with VladTV, Project Pat revealed neither he nor Juicy J would be involved with Da Mafia 6ix’s upcoming album. He also explained Juicy’s absence from the group, which is comprised of Three 6 Mafia’s original members.

DJ Paul took time out to address Pat’s statements in an interview with HipHopDX.

Paul said he hasn’t talked to Pat in years, and doesn’t understand why Pat would publicize his decision not to work with Da Mafia 6ix.
